Rather than write a concert review, I am going to try and give you a feel for what this concert was like from my perspective as well as a few other fans.

Linda from Indiana sent in her comments about the evening: Tanya's Christmas concert was by far the best TT concert I have attended--best seats, best music, loved seeing Presley, Layla and Cali. Also it lasted several hours. You just cannot get any better. Oh ya, I guess I could have gotten it better, if I had gotten tickets that included the meet n greet. That was my fault, but look out TT I am going to meet you yet!! Really a great concert.

When I was leaving I got to hug LaCosta on her way back from her new car, and Layla. Layla was coming down the stairway. I told her I was a great fan of Tuckerville and could I hug her, which I did. She had a great big grin and was a sweetie.

Also I got to meet FL Dee and Casey, Mark, Natalie, and got to see AL Dee again. I loved it!! Hey, the food at the Wildhorse was excellent also.

Mark in KY said this about the concert:  I have been to many TT concerts and events but this was the first time I’d been to a Christmas show. Getting to hear a set of all Christmas songs was awesome not to mention her other hits she performed.  The Imperials, Presley & Cali all were great too. Between the show, meeting and hanging out at the Wildhorse on December 21,  2007 will go down as one of my very favorites.

I asked Casey what she liked most about the concert  and she said, "They sang my favorite Christmas songs!"

Ok, here is my take on the concert. First of all, I included a bunch of photos, partly  because it was such a special night, but also to give ya'll a feel for what the concert was about.  With so many different things going on and the wardrobe changes it was really hard to cull pictures.

This concert was billed as a Tanya Tucker Family Christmas and it definitely was:  Tanya performed with daughters Presley and Layla and  her niece Cali (LaCosta's daughter).  Also in the audience was LaCosta's son Zach and Tanya's son Grayson.  Tanya's mother was with us in spirit and on the air waves via cell phone.

Tanya talked about her mom having a real rough time with the holidays and how much her dad was missed.   Most touching to me, was her sincere wish that Beau could have been there to see the concert and her hope that he was watching.  Every time I go to the Opry, I hope the same thing:  that my dad is there with me watching and enjoying.

Tanya had a few VIPs in the audience and one VIP who couldn't make it.  Apparently Tanya called up George Jones and gave him a personal invite -- unfortunately the Possum was already in bed!!  Now for the VIPs who did attend:  LaCosta of course, Laura Lacy and Tim McGraw's mother.  (I know there were more, but that is the most I can recall).

Tanya always talks about her parents before she performs 'Two Sparrows In A Hurricane' and often gives us, the audience, her personal advice on love and marriage and what it oughta be all about.  How many times have I heard her say, "Stay together because you love each other."  As always, Tanya sang the hell out of that song and got a well-deserved standing O for it.

Tanya gave LaCosta kudos for stepping up and assuming extra responsibility in taking care of family business.  She also bragged about the genius in the family -- LaCosta's son Zach.  Tanya said he is a rocket scientist (I am guessing he is some sort of engineer) and is making the Tucker family look good!

Later on in the concert, right before the Delta Dawn encore, Tanya pulled off a huge surprise - she presented LaCosta with a 1965 Mustang convertible.  Now, I am not sure how you hide a car in a saloon the size of the Wildhorse, but they did!  That was one Tucker family secret that stayed a secret because LaCosta was genuinely blown away.  It was pretty cool getting to be a part of the family celebrating LaCosta's birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACOSTA!

After we left the meet n greet, we ran into Zach hanging out with the Mustang.  I asked him why a Mustang is so special to LaCosta.  He told us when LaCosta was growing up one of her best friends had a 65 Mustang convertible and she had always wanted one.

I am sure ya'll have all read about the hype -- "Imperials, Elvis Presley's backup vocalists, touring with Tanya" yada yada yada.  Well, here is the deal, it wasn't hype!  The Imperials came out on stage and got the night started.  At one point, they had all of us singing along to 'Silent Night'.  That might sound a little boring, but trust me, it wasn't.  About halfway through the song, it hit me!  "I'm singing with the Imperials!!!"  How cool is that?

After the first segment of the show Tanya left the stage and the Imperials took over.  When she returned to the stage in a different outfit I figured the Christmas songs would begin, however that would not be the case.  Tanya started the second segment off with "Lizzie and The Rainman" with the Imperials backing her up.  It was unbelievable.  Song after song was unbelievable.

I can't think of another concert I have attended where the musicians were as good.  Tanya has a new fiddle player that is quite the showman -- the man rocks! He plays a pretty funky looking banjo too.  Porter and the new fiddle were playing off of each other all night -- they were just a ton of fun to watch.  Tanya also has a steel guitar/dobro in her band.  All this in addition to Huck on guitar, a bass player, keyboards and the always phenomenal Jack on drums.  (If anybody out there knows the names of the un-named band members, send them in please).

For those of you that weren't there, picture this .... all of these GREAT musicians, the best back ground vocals (only way it could have been better would be to include Marcia Ramirez) a girl could hope for and then the star of the show is Tanya.  It was magical.

There isn't too much more I can say about Tanya's performance because it was like it always is and maybe a little more  -- unbelievably good!  She really enjoyed the opportunity to change clothes and hairstyle during the concert.  If you had any doubt about what a proud mama she is, it would have been obvious during the concert.  I think she enjoyed Presley and Cali's performances even more than we did.

Cali and Presley both sang at different times throughout the concert. I haven't seen Cali perform in quite a while --  she has a very strong Patsy Cline-ish voice that should take her far and stage presence to boot.  Presley was....impressive.  She sang "White Christmas" and just nailed it - awesome, awesome, awesome.  I am still waiting for Presley and Cali's big splash.

Layla came on stage and sang a Christmas medley of light up-beat Christmas tunes with Tanya, Cali and Presley.  That segment was the defining moment of the whole concert for me - all four of the Tucker's on stage together, doing what they do best: singing.  I couldn't help but hope that all three of these talented girls break out and follow in Tanya's footsteps.  Won't be easy, cause Mother Tucker has some big shoes to fill.

Let's all hope the Tucker Family Christmas is an annual event -- if it is, add more cities and count me in!
