I was ready to start my trip to Metropolis to see Tanya's concert on Friday, when after watching the news I started to get up and fell and broke a bone, pulled ligaments and tendons in my foot and cracked two ribs and ended up in the emergency room for 8 hrs.  Most people would have cancelled the trip, but not me.  I managed to make that 9 hr drive, swollen foot and all.

Saturday night I met up with Michelle from the Metropolis Planet newspaper, who agreed to take photos of the concert for me and after standing in line for a hour, we made it to our seats.  After a little wait,  Tanya came out, big smile and full of energy.  She looked beautiful, she wore black pants and top.

She talked about how George Jones was her hero and several other nice compliments.  Then she started singing and dancing all around the stage and the audience loved it.  The audience spent a lot of time standing up and dancing and had a great time. Tanya had someone, and I'm sorry I didn't hear her name, from Tuckerville come out and sing delta dawn with her. It was hard to hear some of the things that were said, because the audience was so excited and making a lot of noise.

Jack the drummer was awesome as always and the fiddler was very good.

It was an awesome concert and I think Tanya enjoyed it as much as the audience did.

Jack provided me with a list of songs she sang..

1  Some Kind of Trouble
2  Hangin In
3  Lizzie and the Rainman
4  Love Me Like You Used To
5  Walking Shoes
6  Love's Gonna Live Here
7  Ramblin Fever
8  Two Sparrows in a Hurricane
9  Delta Dawn

Then George Jones came out and talked about himself and his album at Cracker Barrell, it would have been nice if he had said something nice about Tanya and even nicer if he had asked her to do a song with him.  He sang a lot of his old songs and some from the new album.  His backup singer was a very good singer, he is lucky to have her to help him with his songs.    After what seemed like hours, several others and I said we wished Tanya's part had been longer, because George's part was wayyyyyyyyyy too long.

I saw Virginia and Jim, who sell Tanya's merchandise and they are so friendly and always do a great job of promoting Tanya.

A trip that started out terrible,  turned out great, because of the awesome concert I would do it all over again.   I'm looking forward to seeing Tanya in Kansas on Oct. 10th.
