I attended Tanya's concert at Loretta's Ranch on Saturday night. It was held in an outdoor covered pavilion, so it was very hot. Tanya was on Tuckertime that evening as she did not show up until about 30 or 35 minutes later for her show. In the meantime her band opened for her. The lead singer sang (very good), guitar player sang (very good) and the keyboard artist performed (excellent). These guys are all really talented. The back-up singer was the girlfriend of T's ex-fiance, Jerry Laseter (Jerry played as well). Before the show I saw Layla go up and give him a hug.
When T came on stage, she immediately had a technical problem. The microphone in her ear was not functioning. She went ahead and sang a couple of songs but after said she hoped she was on the same key as the band because she could not hear a thing. Everyone clapped and said she was fine. Different people were running around trying to fix the problem, but it would not go away. Finally T stopped her concert and started singing a few of Loretta's melodies while her folks were trying to fix her mike. At some point, Jerry handed her a paper with writing on it and she said his name, seemed ticked off, and threw it behind her. I do not know if the problem was ever resolved, but she went on and finished the concert. I thought it was rather short compared to others, but maybe not. She sang
"Love Me Like You used To"
"Walking Shoes"
"Two Sparrows in a Hurricane"
"A little too late"
"Strong Enough to Bend"
" It won't be Me"
Tanya sat on a stool and did her older songs as usual ("Jamestown Ferry', What's Your Mama's Name," Blood Red and Goin' Down", "Will You Lay With Me"). Those re the ones I remember, but there may be more. "Delta Dawn" of course came at the end.
T's voice was wonderful as usual and she looked very pretty in black pants and a black top.
The word was that there would be a "Meet and Greet" but the only people allowed back were ones that had been given VIP passes. I was disappointed as I have never met T and I had my fan club card ready to go. There was a woman we walked out with that flew in clear from CA just for the show and did not get to go back. I felt very bad for her. I think Tanya had said she was going up to see Loretta, so maybe that is why.
